Happy Birthday, the Cat

Sometimes, Mama and Papa go away for a while, and I stay in the studio with Uncle Punk. He is a famous artist and is always busy working, but he pays attention to me and plays with me. When I want to play, I usually come up and talk to Uncle Punk. “Meow!” He looks down and thinks meow means, “I’m hungry,” so he goes downstairs to the kitchen and opens a big can of cat food and puts it in my dish. He feeds me a lot more than Papa and Mama. To please Uncle Punk, I eat it. When he sees me finish, he goes back to work. Then later, when I come up to say, “Uncle Punk, let’s play. Meow!” he says, “You, Punk! Are you hungry again?” He always calls me Punk, and that’s why I call him Uncle Punk. He runs downstairs and feeds me again. This goes on two or three times a day. I get tired from eating so I have to lie down a lot. When I get up, Uncle Punk thinks I’m hungry, and he feeds me again. Then he runs out of cat food and mumbles, “Your mama and papa never leave enough food for you.” He goes out to buy more. By the time Mama and Papa come home, I am really fat. Uncle Punk tells them, “Oh, I didn’t feed her except when she was hungry.”
